There could be several reasons why your air conditioner isn't cooling your home. Among the most common causes are:
- Low refrigerant: If the air conditioner is low on refrigerant, it may be unable to effectively cool the air.
- A dirty air filter can restrict airflow and make the air conditioner work harder, reducing cooling capacity.
- Blocked condenser coils: Debris can clog the condenser coils, which are located outside the home, and prevent the air conditioner from releasing heat.
- A faulty thermostat can prevent the air conditioner from starting or cause it to cycle on and off frequently.
The price can vary from $3,000 to $7,000 on average, but it can also be higher or lower depending on certain factors. For example, the size, type, location, and complexity of the installation all affect how much it will cost to replace a residential AC unit.
Most plumbers offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of residential and commercial customers. It's important to note that plumbers may not offer all of these services and it's best to inquire with them before scheduling an appointment.
Here are a few of the most common services:
- Repairs and maintenance: Plumbers can repair leaks, clogs, and other issues with pipes, faucets, and fixtures.
- Installation: Plumbers can install new plumbing systems, including pipes, faucets, toilets, and other fixtures.
- Replacements: Plumbers can replace old or damaged pipes, faucets, and fixtures with new, more energy-efficient models.
- Inspection: Plumbers can inspect plumbing systems for potential issues and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
- Sewer and drain cleaning: Plumbers can clean and clear clogs in sewer and drain lines to keep them flowing smoothly.
- Water heater repair and replacement: Plumbers can repair and replace traditional and tankless water heaters.
- Emergency services: Plumbers are available 24/7 to respond to emergency situations, like burst pipes, leaks, and floods.
John was our service tech and he serviced the AC/Heating units. John noticed that we have a lot of air purifiers and he a suggested a UV air filtration system for cleaner air in our home. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I’m always happy with Chrome Heating,Air and Plumbing service.
Staff is great and hard working but one of my bedrooms isn't cooling and main door on unit doesn't snap shut..
Good price was offered and also received Costco benefits. Installation was professional and smooth. I would recommend Chrome to friends. I had two complete Lenox systems installed replacing original units and both are running great. Thank you Ron (sales) and George and crew ( installers) for all the great work you did.
Ray is a very nice guy, quick and to the point just the way I like it.
Upon arrival re-read the notes from April and found that no repairs have been done yet, checked RTU’s just to confirm repairs, will also need to add a blower wheel replacement to RTU3.
Commercial service in Rockwall and Upon arrival found three RT use that had the drain line disconnected. Reattach drain lines and make sure drains had a slow falling towards the main drain point, systems are draining properly at this time. Other systems still have issues only three systems are working out of six.

Upon arrival met with ken and began diagnosing system. Found that in heat mode or cool outdoor unit will not turn on. Checked outdoor unit and found that it was locked out on high head pressure, reset outdoor unit and condenser came on. Pressures in heat mode rose up to 600psi before turning off. Switched system to cool mode and pressures were ok. After speaking with ken came to a conclusion that the outdoor txv is restricting the flow of refrigerant causing high pressure lock out. Invoice/labor will be taken care of by Lennox. Part is under warranty through Lennox. Customer wants us to email past service and maintenance invoices along with information on cool care warranty. Lennox in Allen has parts in will call. Michael wants quote approved before any work done.
Checked amp draws on inducer fan motor and blower motor, cleaned flame sensor checked air filter, checked safety devices, checked heat exchanger it was good, check igniter
Recovered refrigerant from system. Removed dryer and txv. Installed new txv and brazed in new dryer. Pressure tested system with nitrogen, disconnected evaporator coil from furnace, hung new straps, moved evaporator coil over 8", built/installed transition between furnace and evaporator coil, taped of duct connections, leveled off unit, mastic sealed evaporator and furnace, pressure tested system with nitrogen, pulled vacuum on system, weighed in 410a refrigerant into system, reset unit, reconnected drain line to evaporator, ran system through cooling cycle and tested system. Unit is operational at this time.
Contaminated refrigerant, bad filter drier. Need to recover refrigerant, purge system, pull vacuum, replace filter drier, recharge. 10 YEAR PARTS AND LABOR ON THIS SYSTEM
Did spring maintenance, found low refrigerant in one unit. Charged by superheat. During fall maintenance if it's low be prepared to do a leak check. Also accidentally stepped through the ceiling. Need to schedule drywall repair.
Dispatched to no heat. Upon arrival unit was heating. Caretaker said that the bottom breaker in the air handler was tripping. Upon inspection the lug nuts securing the wires were loose. We tightened the connections and ran through the system to make sure there were no further issues. No other issues were found. Unit is still heating upon departure.
Didn't charge service fee.
Dispatched to unit not working. Uoon arrival unit was working properly, customer stated that that the thermostat lost power Sunday and returned today (Wednesday) prior to my arrival. She had used the air conditioning Sunday and I believe triggered the float switch. I blew out drain lines and rewired float switch to only cut off heat pump. Unit is working properly upon departure.
Dispatched to unit not heating. Fuse was blown. After extensive diagnostic with coleman tech support. We diagnosed a bad defrost board. I installed a new defrost board and rewired the entire system.
Completed two system fall matience. Both units are 3 year old lennox units. Both are operating properly and safe to operate at this time. Pictures and report attached.
System wasn't running at all upon arrival. After diagnostic inside unit wiring was a mess and low voltage wires were touching and blew the fuse. After replacement of fuse and repairs of wiring unit is running properly.
Completed 2 system fall matience on 4 year old lennox units. All heating elements, and safety features are working properly at this time. Left estimate for UV light for whole home air purification.
Completed one system matience on 19 year old American standard heat pump. Unit is heating properly at this time, including refrigerant levels. Unit is starting to have bacteria growths inside the system pictures attached. There is also a large amount of rodent evidence on top of and around unit. Attic is also low in insulation as well. Pictures and estimates attached.
In addition to estimates I would recommend getting an exterminator out for the rodent droppings in attic. They will often chew through wires in and around your systems and cause problems/breakdowns.
