Review of Chrome Heating & Air Conditioning

The first date was a no show. No one called or texted and I sat around home waiting. The second date was supposed to be in the AM and service guy did not arrive until a little before 1:00 PM. Here again I sat around all morning waiting. I don't mind being rescheduled for a service appointment but shouldn't you at least let your customer know what to expect? I'll bet you wouldn't be happy if I was not here.

Residential service call in Frisco and Upon arrival was told by homeowner that a home warranty company came out and diagnosed the downstairs unit with a bad compressor. Turned system on at Tstat and checked indoor unit. Found indoor unit operating properly. I did find that the Y wire at Tstat was not pushed into connection all the way so it couldn’t send a call for cool. Checked outdoor unit and found that the capacitor was missing and all screws we’re taken out of condenser top. Put all screws back in and found that condenser required a 45/10 capacitor. Installed a capacitor temporarily. Turned system on and compressor came on. Checked refrigerant levels and they were low. System is about 5-8lbs low on refrigerant. Checked indoor coil and found oil in the drain pan. Evaporator coil has a leak and would need to be replaced along with a new capacitor. Coil is under warranty until 2023. Coil is in stock at Carrollton location. Homeowner wants to go over price with spouse, and contact oth

Residential service call for a customer in Frisco with 1 unit not cooling and Upon arrival found system off. Turned system on and checked I door unit. Checked temperature split and it was at 28*. Checked static pressure and found it a little high, found that even tho the filter didn’t look dirty it was causing massive air flow restriction. Checked filter and re-checked pressures. Pressures looked good but super heat was a little high. Tried adjusting blower speed and was able to drop it from 24 to 22. Indoor temp dropped from 77* to 73*. After making adjustments to blower and changing out filter temperature split is now at 18-19*. System may be having issues with the txv, explained to Kevin that with these adjustments we will see how it does if it seems like it still not working then we need to replace the txv. Emailed estimate over to replace txv under warranty.

Checked outdoor unit and found it calling but contactor not pulled in, noticed a lot of refrigerant oil sitting in the bottom of condenser. Checked compressor and found a blown terminal. high static pressure could’ve been the cause as to why the terminal blew. System is empty on refrigerant. Checked indoor unit and found everything operational. Found that on the Tstat wiring going to the outdoor unit there was only I- and I+ connected. Found compressor plug blown off of compressor and compressor terminals burnt up pretty bad. Ohmed out compressor. System has a bad compressor and would also need the wiring harness to compressor as well. With system operating fine on how thermostat wiring is done recommended running two new thermostat wires to condensers. Fred approved replacement of compressor. Springtime Air Conditioning Repair for a residential customer near Bill Hays Middle School. Upon arrival found upstairs unit not cooling well. Checked indoor unit and found system operating. Found ice build up around txv, checked inside coil and found ice build up on it. Also found a decent amount of rust on coil and a little bit of refrigerant oil in coil drain pan. Called Lennox to see if system got registered for 10 year parts and Andrew at Lennox said it didn’t get registered so it only got a 5 year warranty. Gave options on just to add refrigerant, replace the evaporator coil or replace system due to old system not having any warranties. Landlord will call office and wants to discuss pricing. System is not cooling properly at this time. If we add refrigerant it has the potential to leak back out.
