Hello, my name is Sean I’m with Chrome Air Conditioning Plumbing and I wanted to go over a quick review of how to light your pilot on the water heaters and to turn your temperature up.

When examining the gas valve, you will notice a button located on the water heater that is labeled with off, pilot, and on. The instructions are usually found on the side of the water, but they may be difficult to understand.

To start, simply turn the knob located at the pilot position and then press it downwards.

You will need to keep holding this for 30 seconds to a minute, and every 5 or 10 seconds, press this button to create sparks for lighting your pilot.

We will remain seated here, repeatedly performing this action every few seconds while keeping this button pressed continuously.

Click and hold the button for a few seconds, continuing to do so for about 30 seconds to a minute, with a minute.

Activate the button by lifting it, which will engage the pilot light. Next, adjust the temperature by rotating the large black dial located in this area.

Timeless Solutions for Your Plumbing Needs

It’s currently set to the pilot light, but you’ll need to increase the setting to this level.

We usually place it on this triangular shape with an angle of around 120 degrees. If you want it to be hotter, increase the temperature slightly and leave it like that for a period of 24 hours to two days.

You can slightly increase the temperature if it is not warm enough for your liking. However, it is important to make gradual adjustments rather than raising it drastically, as it typically takes 24 to 48 hours for the temperature to stabilize and reach the desired level set on the thermostat.
